Colleges Worry, So Should We

Ok, so it’s 2013 and we’re awfully impressed with ourselves, from endless selfies, Facebook declarations and tweets. We really don’t have all that much to say. But we can, so we do. This seems to be a natural outgrowth of an education and business environment in which there is a data and communication explosion. Instead of insight or wisdom or clarity of thought, we’re overwhelmed by content for content’s sake.

What are students learning? Have we narrowed learning to a means to the end of finding a job? It’s pretty obvious that as time marches on there will be an ever-increasing glut of data. There doesn’t seem to be any great need for ways and people to add even more to this mix, though they will. However, it sure would be nice if someone could make some sense of it, or IT.
