Remember just a short time ago, though it now seems like a lifetime away, when just about everybody had to get into the B of BRIC countries? Brazil’s economy was flying high and its political and business leaders were doing a victory dance after the country was awarded the 2016 Olympics.
Be careful what you wish for. It’s likely too early to panic, but Brazil is well behind schedule in its preparation for the Olympic games. But more lasting and troubling is the possibility that Brazil has lost its way in the world economy, as was recently reported in The Economist.
